I recently slipped on a wet floor and hurt my back. How much would it cost me to talk to someone at your firm about my case?

At Friedman, Levy, Goldfarb & Green a consultation is always free of charge, and if you think you are the victim of negligence, one of our attorneys will set up a time to speak to you.

Although the firm is capable of handling a wide array of cases at any one time, we carefully regulate our caseload so that we can fully devote ourselves to each client, providing the individual and personal attention his or her case deserves.

Clients are never charged a consultation fee for a personal injury or medical malpractice case. Our attorneys are always available to discuss potential claims with an injured person, his or her family or their representative. We are often able to develop an insight or legal theory on a case which others have missed.

For our personal injury and medical malpractice cases clients never pay a fee unless a case recovery is achieved. In these cases the firm works exclusively on a contingency basis. This means that you do not have to pay a fee in advance. Our fee is a share of the amount recovered at the end of the case. In the case of personal injury, our fee is a standard one-third. Medical malpractice contingency fees are set by the State of New York and follow a sliding scale schedule.

The firm pays all expenses involved in preparing and trying a case, and upon a favorable resolution, expenses are paid back to the firm out of the settlement or verdict before the fee is calculated. This results in the firm sharing in the cost of prosecuting a case in the same proportion as our fee is to the recovery.

On matters other than personal injury and medical malpractice the firm charges either an hourly fee or a flat rate for the entire matter. The fee is agreed to with the client prior to commencement of work, so there are no surprises.

Clients are kept informed throughout of any and all settlement negotiations, and all decisions and settlement offers are presented to the client for his or her consideration.
